I did an art dump blog post back in February, and it seems like we’re due for more doodles! Last time you got an unforeseen amount of cats. This time your challenge is to spot all the art inspired by Lord of the Rings that seeped its way into my collection!
(Don’t miss the special announcement at the very end. =))
Short Story Art
I enjoyed doing art for the Turning Point Story Contest writers and their beautifully creative stories earlier this year. Click on the images to find the stories that go with them.
Doodles
To exercise practicing consistently, I made up some very random art prompts to do with my little sisters. Here are a few of the results, plus some other doodles. Yes, that’s a hairy unicorn. And an octo-bear. And a stapler in space. And a bunch of Legolas faces.

Digital Art Drawings
My favorite medium these days is Photoshop and my trusty art tablet! I’ve been surprised at how quickly I’ve improved since I started last August. It makes me feel rusty with real art tools!

Prismacolor pencils
I used Prismacolor pencils a lot when I took The Complete Drawing & Painting Course on Udemy (Mom got it for me when it had a huge discount). Here are a few drawings I’ve done with them, including a stoic made-upcreature.

Watercolor
After Prismacolor, the course I took moved on to watercolor.

Last but not least, sunburned and stained shirt Chris Pratt
For your amusement, here is a drawing that did not go so well.

What do you think?
I hope you enjoyed this collection! Before you go, I have that announcement I promised.
I’m planning to open up for art commissions this summer!
I’m hoping to go to a writing conference next year, and doing art commissions seems like a great way to save up for that while getting more art and business practice. Right now, I’m thinking I’ll wait for another month, and then start doing choose-your-own price art for those who would like it. I’ll build up my portfolio and maybe gather a few testimonials before I decide what to do next.
But first I need YOUR help.
Could you fill out this four-question survey for me?
https://forms.gle/3sX98hTU1CnfxQvdA
It will help me to prepare for when I open up for business and determine what art skills I should focus on in the next month. Whether you’re a future customer or not, I would love to get your advice!
Thank you in advance and have a lovely July!
Eliana! These are AMAZING!! Wow, the watercolors, I know how hard that is, beautiful work. I filled out the survey, that’s really exciting!
Thank you so much, Josie!! And thank you so much for taking the survey too. Your input is so helpful!
I’m guessing my comment from Monday got eaten, so I’m trying again with VPN turned off so I don’t get those weird ‘you might be a robot’ messages. Just wanted to say I like the Gandalf picture, and the fox and phoenix, and the cute one of Reepicheep too.
Which conference are you interested in attending?
Best wishes with your commissions and practice, and you have a great July as well!
Uh oh. XD
Thank you! Those were a lot of fun. =D
I’m thinking Realmmakers, but I’m up for looking into others too, if you have any suggestions! A friend and I had been planning to go to Mount Hermon’s before that was canceled, so hopefully next year will be the year, a senior trip of sorts. (If you were interested, we’d love for you to join the party!)
Thank you again for your kind words!
I love your art!!
Thank you, Lili!! ?
